A few years ago, significant changes occurred in the online TEFL industry in China. Most reputable English language institutions will require their teachers to hold a TEFL qualification.
TEFL is an acronym for Teach English as a Foreign Language. Other acronyms for English instruction certifications include TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language), TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages), and CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults).

Become An Online TEFL Teacher
Consider online TEFL jobs if you desire location independence and flexible scheduling while sharing your culture and the English language. Here are a few to help you get started.
Cambly
Cambly (referral link) has two sections. One is for adults and pays $0.17 per minute. The other section, Cambly Kids, is for children ages 4-15 and pays $0.20 per minute. Pay is weekly via Stripe or PayPal.
Lingostar
Lingostar (referral link) is an online English?learning platform that connects teachers with motivated students across East Asia. This platform offers structured, level?based lessons and a clean, intuitive teaching interface.
Preply
Do you speak a language fluently? Or, are you great at painting? Great! Get paid to teach it. Be your own boss. Set your own hours and prices. Tutor students from all over the world. Tutors make, on average, $15 to $25 per hour with Preply. The platform offers lessons in more than 100 subjects. You don’t need certification or teaching experience to apply.
SkimaTalk
Teach English to a global community of students. SkimaTalk offers tutors flexible scheduling and location independence. Your first 3 classes will be unpaid. italki
italki offers positions for licensed teachers and informal tutors. Licensed teachers typically earn anywhere from $10 to $80 for each lesson. Community tutors earn from $5 to $80 per lesson.
Outschool
Earn an average of $50 per hour teaching on the Outschool platform. Choose your own schedule, set your own hours, and teach your own curriculum. Teach languages or any other subject you’re passionate about.
