Friendless When Traveling

I’m totally in love with solo traveling, but once in a while I like to sit and have a drink or lunch with another person. Sometimes, just striking up a conversation with a local can end up in a walk to the coffee shop across the street. Other times, it may seem impossible to find a lunch or coffee partner. During those seemingly impossible times, there’s a really simple fix! You know the saying, “There’s an app for that”? Well, it’s true!

The Couchsurfing app is an excellent tool for meeting up with other travelers looking to hangout with like minded individuals. You can hang out with as many people as you want if you’re all in close proximity and agree on a time and place. Couchsurfing has a ‘Hangout’ feature that uses location services to find other travelers in the same general area. It also has a feature for finding nearby events.

I’ve used this a few times and met some really awesome people. Solo travel doesn’t mean you have to be alone all the time! While you’re out there exploring new places, make new acquaintances and grow your network.
