In light of the recent changes to the online TEFL industry in China, I have removed all China-based companies and replaced them with companies based elsewhere. That way, you can have more confidence in the longevity of your career. Most reputable English language institutions will require their teachers to hold a TEFL qualification. TEFL is an acronym for Teach English as a Foreign Language. Other acronyms for English instruction certifications are TESL (Teach English as a Second Language), TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages), and CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults). Once you have become a TEFL teacher, you open up a new world of opportunities. Enjoy being paid to travel to and teach in distant lands, or work abroad from the comfort of your home! The choice is yours!
You don’t have an English instruction certification? No problem! Just head to the Get Certified section. There, you’ll find course offerings from reputable institutions. If you’re already TEFL certified, you can check out the jobs listed below or check out this list of ESL companies that are not based in China.
